

Infertility in Men and Women
Infertility is a medical issue when a couple is unable to conceive a baby even after years of trying. A women know that their first role is being a mother and infertility can cause the sense of inability and incompetence. But, Infertility isn’t just a woman’s problem. Men can be infertile too. In fact, men and women are equally likely to have fertility problems. When women who are able to conceive but not carry a pregnancy to term may also be diagnosed with infertility. It may also result when both the partners are have a combination factors that prevents pregnancy. Sometimes, in woman infertility may have irregular or absent menstrual periods. In some cases, a man with infertility may have some signs of hormonal problems, such as changes in hair growth or sexual function.
Infertility is accompanied by numerous psychological and social problems. Infertile couples can be more anxious and emotionally distressed than other fertile people. It can be a tension of life which imposes much stress on couples. It can also effect one’s mental health, which eventually leads to decreasing intimacy, despair or depression, possible divorce. An infertile person may start involving themselves in long time costly and strict medication that can have a psycho – social reaction in a infertile person. Symptoms of female infertility are
- Who are age 35 or older and have been trying to conceive for six months or longer
- Who are over age 40
- Have irregular or absent periods
- Have very painful periods
- Have known fertility problems
- Have been diagnosed with endometriosis or pelvic inflammatory disease
- Have had multiple miscarriages
- Have undergone treatment for cancer
Symptoms of male infertility are
- A low sperm count or other problems with sperm
- A history of testicular, prostate or sexual problems
- Undergone treatment for cancer
- Small testicles or swelling in the scrotum
- Others in your family with infertility problems
A woman’s fertility begins to decrease following age 30. Women under 35 should visit a doctor after one year of trying to get pregnant while women 35 and over should visit a doctor after 6 months of trying.
